I was just thinking: someone (maybe me, but probably not – my artistic skills are decidedly lacking) should compile a map (or set of maps) showing how the travel screens are connected. These should then be posted on the wiki (as image files) with a spoiler warning. I’d kinda like that – knowing how many screens I need to click through if I want to go to a particular hunting spot. Just a thought.

I had some time, and started working on this map project . . . Should I create a Spoilers page on the wiki and link to the maps from there? Or is no one else interested in knowing how to get to all the hunting/safe screens?

Well, technically, there already is a map… although it doesn’t list per-screen (only routes and cities, you don’t see how many screens a route or city actually consists of) and it doesn’t have sidelines (such as the sewers).

Yeah, and the map of the continent doesn’t have city names, either. That’s one of the things I’d like to fix by making the screen-by-screen maps . . . but I won’t post them on the wiki if no one else is interested in using them.

I would like to see that map done. It will help planning travels because we can see how long are roads and where to hunt to all who are a bit absent-minded like me. Also if it includes the dungeons maps it would be great (with a big spoiler warning :D ) . Also I like peering through maps .

Then I’ll see what I can do! I’ll probably label all the maps as ‘spoilers’, because part of the fun (for me, at least) is exploring new territory.

I have the city of Hopitan and the Hopitan Sewers completed; now I just have to figure out how to post it on the wiki. Wish me luck!

The screen-by-screen maps for the currently-available areas are now posted on the wiki: search for the ‘Spoilers’ page. Feel free to edit the pages or the maps if you think they need it.

As new areas become available, I will try to post new maps . . . but perhaps not for a few weeks after the release, to give people a chance to explore without spoilers.

Also, I did color-code the screen titles, although I may have missed some (especially ones in multiple categories): red means ‘hunting zone: beware of ambushes’; blue means ’there’s at least one market here’; green means ‘you can’t get here until you complete the right mission. Come back later.’

I hope people find these maps useful, or at least interesting to look at.

Thanks for the maps Saavik. They will get very useful later on ;) .

I like that idea of posting maps of new areas some time after they get released, I would think even a longer period after the release, it would be unavoidable for most(like me) to go and check them just to see whats new has been added.
I would like to see them with an higher quality(less compressed jpg), if you still have the original in your pc and there isn’t any problem with it. The words get a bit fuzzy with this rate.

The originals are actually MSWord documents. I just did a copy-and-paste operation to put them in Paint (the only drawing program I have) and saved them as jpegs. If you have something better, I can send you the originals . . .

Ah, our friend Paint. Its ok then, Paint saves his jpg in an arbitrary compression rate. If someday I have too much time on my hands I could try something fancy, but thats not the case in the near future :p.

Anyway, they are already good maps as they are now. Remember of getting us updated with your forecoming cartographic expeditions :D
